Yelvington and Relay were communities linked to railroad development, now practically disappeared or reduced to remnants. Flagler Estates, for its part, is the result of an ambitious real estate project initiated in the mid-twentieth century that never fully materialized, leaving an extensive grid of unurbanized streets.
The route continues through areas such as Bimini and St. Johns Park, zones characterized by irregular land occupation and a strong dependence on the natural environment. The route allows observation of the traces of failed settlement attempts and the rural dynamics that still persist in the region.
The complete route and its historical context are part of Discovering Florida – Volume 2.
