As the route enters Orange County, the scenery blends residential developments, lakes, nature preserves, and major transportation corridors. It continues through unincorporated communities including Lake Hart, Rio Pinar, Azalea Park, Alafaya, and University, home to the main campus of the University of Central Florida. This stretch reflects the transformation from agricultural lands to one of the fastest-growing urban regions in the state.
The northernmost point is reached in Oviedo, a town beside Lake Jesup that preserves much of its early twentieth-century character and bears a name tied to Florida’s Spanish legacy. The return follows a southwestward loop, alternating between roadways and sections of the Cross Seminole Trail, a greenway built on an abandoned rail line. The final miles pass through historic communities such as Slavia, Jamestown, Gabriella, and Goldenrod, completing a route that connects history, urban growth, and natural spaces.
